Princess Lala Phinisi
Booking terms for Princess Lala, in plain words
Updated 11 October 2026
You pay a deposit of 50 percent to book and the balance 30 days before departure. Cancel 60 days or more before and 50 percent comes back; refunds are paid within 14 days. Park fees are paid separately, and if Princess Lala cannot sail you get an equal or better phinisi, or a full refund.
Who these terms are between
These terms are between you and PT Komodo Explorer Indonesia, NIB 1805260128363, a licensed Indonesian company in Labuan Bajo. They cover open-trip cabins and private charters on Princess Lala, and they are written in the first and second person so that you know what we promise and what we ask of you.
Your booking starts when we confirm your cabin, or the whole boat, in writing and you pay the deposit. Paying the deposit means you accept these terms. Prices include 11 percent VAT.
The terms cover the trip we sell you: the transfers, the days on board and the return. They do not cover your flights, your hotel nights or anything you buy from other companies, and they do not replace your travel insurance.
The rules on this page are the same for everyone. If we agree something different with you, such as an arrival time on a private charter, we put it in writing, and the written version applies.
Paying: deposit, balance and fees
The deposit is 50 percent of the fare, and it secures your cabin or your dates. The balance is due 30 days before departure. If you book inside those 30 days, the fare is paid in full when you book.
You can pay by a credit card payment link, Wise, Revolut, PayPal, QRIS, Alipay, WeChat Pay through a payment partner, or bank transfer in rupiah. PayPal adds a fee of 7.2 percent, and any card fee is shown on your invoice. The invoice comes from PT Komodo Explorer Indonesia.
If you cannot pay the balance by the due date, write to us before that date and we tell you in writing what can be done.
Fares for open trips that start on or before 31 December 2026 are lower than the fares for 2027, by the amount shown in the fare tables. For sailings after 31 July 2027, ask us for the price. If a fare changes before your balance is due, we tell you first and you can cancel without charge.
Cancelling or moving your date
If you cancel 60 days or more before departure, we refund 50 percent. If you cancel 30 to 59 days before, we refund 25 percent. Under 30 days before departure, nothing is refunded. We pay every refund within 14 days.
If you want to move to another date and the new sailing has room, a change made 30 days or more before departure is free. From 14 to 29 days before departure it costs IDR 500,000. Inside 14 days, a change counts as a cancellation.
Count the days from the date of departure, not from the date you booked. Send cancellations and changes to [email protected] or on WhatsApp, and we confirm them in writing.
If we are the ones who cancel, you receive a full refund, as set out in the substitute-boat guarantee below. If your reason for cancelling is covered by your travel insurance, that claim is between you and your insurer.
Children, park fees and what the fare leaves out
Children under 3 travel free when accompanied by a parent or guardian. From age 3 the full fare applies. A third guest in a cabin sleeps on the single bed and pays the extra-bed fare shown in the table.
Park fees are paid separately from the fare. Under the regulation PP 36/2024, the entrance fee is IDR 250,000 per international visitor per day, IDR 50,000 per Indonesian visitor on weekdays and IDR 75,000 at weekends. The ranger fee and other levies are extra and can change.
Also outside the fare: flights, hotel nights in Labuan Bajo, tips for the guide and crew, travel insurance and personal expenses.
On the open trip, a local guide and photo and video documentation by the open-trip photographer are in the fare. On a private charter they are not. Both are available on request and quoted separately. A private charter fare covers the boat and crew, meals, water, tea and coffee, mask and snorkel, the karaoke and sound system, and pickup.
When the route changes, and when she cannot sail
The itinerary can change with sea conditions, weather, park quotas and agreement on board. The day is settled on board by agreement, and the harbour master can close the port. On the open trip the park quota decides between Padar and Gili Lawa, and between Komodo and Rinca. Where the boat spends the night is decided by the weather and the captain.
We cannot promise a stop, a dragon or a manta ray, because the sea and the park decide those. What we do promise is the boat.
The substitute-boat guarantee. If Princess Lala cannot sail, you get a phinisi of equal or higher class on the same dates at no extra cost; if the harbour master closes the port, or you would rather not take the other boat, the trip is refunded in full, and we pay the refund within 14 days.
If a change to the itinerary worries you, ask us before you pay. We answer in writing.
Insurance, responsibility and the law
We recommend travel insurance for every guest. It is not in the fare. A policy that covers medical care and cancellation is the sensible one, since the nearest hospital is in Labuan Bajo and the boat carries a basic first-aid kit.
You are responsible for being where we agreed, at the time we agreed, with the documents you need to travel in Indonesia. Plan to land in Labuan Bajo the day before the boat leaves, so that a delayed flight does not cost you the trip.
Tell us before you book about any health condition, mobility need or diet that the crew should know.
Indonesian law governs these terms. If you have a complaint, write to [email protected] first; most things are settled by a message. The privacy policy explains how we handle your details.
