Labuan Bajo hotels and flights for the nights around Princess Lala

Plan one night in Labuan Bajo before you sail, and choose the hotel for it: we collect you from its door.

On the open trip the day-one pickup collects you from any mainland hotel on this page or from the airport. On a private charter the hour is agreed with you. You do not need to be near the harbour to board: for the mainland hotels the drive times in the list below run from about 2 minutes to about 20.

So choose the hotel for the evening, not for the pickup. The harbour area suits an evening on foot, the beaches suit a tired child who wants a pool, and the airport area suits an early flight the next morning.

Bring a soft bag to the boat, and ask your hotel whether it can keep a hard suitcase, since a cabin on Princess Lala has one double bed, a single bed beside it and little floor. The drive times in the list are to the harbour, and the maps link opens each hotel on a map.

The town centre and marina area has the shortest rides. Meruorah Komodo Labuan Bajo (Map) is a 145-room hotel on the marina waterfront, a short walk from the harbour. Komodo Lodge (Map) is a budget lodge about a five-minute walk from the harbour, and Flamingo Avia Labuan Bajo (Map) sits a six-minute walk from the port, with an outdoor pool. Zasgo Hotel, Eco Tree O'Tel and Seaesta Komodo Hostel & Hotel are also in the centre.

The hills above town trade the walk for the view. Loccal Collection Hotel (Map) is a cliffside boutique hotel with an infinity pool and white and blue architecture. Villa Domanik (Map) has hillside bungalows with a pool and sea views. Golo Hilltop Hotel has hilltop bungalows and longhouses over the bay, and Green Hill Boutique Hotel has longhouse-style rooms reached by stairs from the main street, which is worth knowing before a grandparent books it.

If you come ashore from a two-day trip between 19:00 and 20:30, a room in the centre is the easiest one to reach, a short transfer from the pier. There is more on that night in the two-day section below.

Pede Beach is the nearer of the two, about 10 minutes' drive. Sudamala Resort Komodo (Map) is a beachfront resort with pool villas, an infinity pool and a spa. The Jayakarta Suites Komodo-Flores, Luwansa Beach Resort, Bintang Flores Hotel, Laprima Hotel Labuan Bajo and Puri Sari Beach Hotel are midrange hotels along the same beach road.

Waecicu Beach is a little further out, a ride of 10 to 20 minutes. AYANA Komodo Resort, Waecicu Beach (Map) is a beachfront resort of about 205 rooms with a private jetty and two pools. Plataran Komodo Resort & Spa is a hillside villa resort with a beach club, and Katamaran Hotel & Resort Komodo has 13 room types, from suites to overwater villas. Sylvia Resort Komodo, Mohini Komodo Resort and Waecicu Eden Beach Hotel are further options on the same coast.

Beyond Waecicu is Wae Rana, where Ta'aktana, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa (Map) opened in June 2024 with 70 rooms, including overwater villas.

A beach hotel suits a family that wants a swim the evening before and the evening after. It suits a three-generation group that wants the grandparents to sit in the shade while the others walk the shore.

Two hotels sit in the airport area. Crowne Plaza Labuan Bajo by IHG (Map) is a hotel of 199 rooms and suites in the Komodo airport complex, with a pool and a spa. Parlezo by Kagum Hotels (Map) is a 29-room hotel about 600 metres from the airport, with its own restaurant and free parking. The drive to the harbour is about 10 minutes from each.

These are the hotels for the night you land late, and for the night after the boat if your flight leaves early the next morning. Bluebell House (Map) is outside the airport area, at Wae Kelambu, and is a budget alternative a short drive from the port.

One note for the three-day trip. On day three the boat docks at 10:00 to 11:00, and we tell guests to book flights after 13:00. So you do not need an airport hotel for the last night; the airport is where the transfer ends, and your bags travel with you.

If you are arriving by an early-morning flight and sailing the same day, ask us the pickup time, and your guide settles it with you.

The two-day fare on the open trip goes ashore between 19:00 and 20:30 on the second evening, and that is the night to plan. You will be sandy, salty and ready for a shower. You will not be ready for a flight.

The simplest answer is the hotel you slept in the night before you sailed. Book the same room for the night you come ashore, and tell reception that you will arrive late in the evening. Our transfer from the pier takes you to its door.

If you would rather change hotels, the centre of town is the shortest ride from the pier, the airport area is the shortest ride to the morning flight, and the beaches suit the next day if you have it. You can book the second hotel through us in the same conversation and we line up the transfer.

Then fly the next day.

Three-day guests do not face this. They step ashore between 10:00 and 11:00 on day three, with the afternoon free for the flight home.
