Private Komodo boat charter on Princess Lala, the whole phinisi for your group

Updated 11 October 2026

A private charter gives your group the whole of Princess Lala: six cabins, both tables, the chef and five crew, for two to five days on a date you choose. The price is per boat, from IDR 31,750,000 (≈ USD 1,948) for two days with up to four guests, and she sleeps up to 18. Park fees and a guide cost extra.

Everyone at the table is someone you brought

A private charter is the simplest version of this boat. The chef cooks for your group alone, the five crew sail for you, both tables are yours, and the hour we collect you on the first day is agreed with you instead of being set by a timetable. You choose the date, as long as the boat is free, and the length: two days and one night, three days and two nights, four days and three nights, or five days and four nights.

The days follow the charter route. Two days take in Kelor, Manjarite, the sunset off Kalong, Padar, the dragons on Komodo, Pink Beach and Manta Point. Three days add Taka Makassar, and on a charter the last morning calls at Sebayur before Kanawa. Four days slow everything down: a long afternoon at Pink Beach, a hill walk on Gili Lawa, snorkelling at Siaba, and Kanawa and Seture Island on the way home. The itinerary can change with sea conditions, weather, park quotas and agreement on board.

Sleeping is easy to plan. Twelve of you sleep two to a cabin. Use the single beds, with the berth that is added to Cabin 6 on charters, and the boat sleeps 18.

Tell us what the trip is for, a birthday or three generations at one dinner; the chef and the cruise director plan better when they know.

What the whole boat costs

A charter is priced per boat, and the price steps up with the size of your group. There are three bands: one to four guests, five to eight, and nine to twelve. Beyond twelve, each extra guest pays a fixed fare, and the boat takes up to 18.

Take three days as the example. The boat costs IDR 38,000,000 (≈ USD 2,331) for one to four guests, IDR 41,000,000 (≈ USD 2,515) for five to eight and IDR 46,000,000 (≈ USD 2,822) for nine to twelve, and each guest from the thirteenth to the eighteenth adds IDR 2,250,000 (≈ USD 138). Two days start at IDR 31,750,000 (≈ USD 1,948), the lowest price on the list. Four days run from IDR 46,000,000 (≈ USD 2,822) to IDR 54,500,000 (≈ USD 3,344). The tables below give every band for two, three and four days.

These prices are valid from 1 January to 31 July 2027, with VAT at 11 percent included. For a charter that sails before 1 January 2027, ask us for the price.

A child under 3 travels free with a parent or guardian. From that age the full price applies.

Five days, and what each of you pays

Five days and four nights is the longest charter route. It has no table of its own, so here are its prices: IDR 49,000,000 (≈ USD 3,006) for one to four guests, IDR 55,500,000 (≈ USD 3,405) for five to eight and IDR 61,000,000 (≈ USD 3,742) for nine to twelve, with IDR 3,750,000 (≈ USD 230) for each guest beyond twelve. Split between twelve, five days come to IDR 5,080,000 (≈ USD 312) each.

Day four of the five-day route is Senator, Kanawa and Sabolon, and day five is Rangko Cave and Seture. We send the full route, day by day, when you ask.

Now divide the bill at the table. Split between twelve, three days come to IDR 3,830,000 (≈ USD 235) each. Fill all 18 beds and it is IDR 3,310,000 (≈ USD 203). A family of four pays IDR 9,500,000 (≈ USD 583) each, for the same boat, the same chef and both tables to themselves.

The table below does that division for every group size on the two-day, three-day and four-day routes. It counts the boat only. Park fees, tips and anything you add, such as a guide, come on top.

What a charter fare covers, and the two things it leaves out

The fare covers the boat and the people who run her: the captain, the cruise director, the chef and the deck crew. It covers every meal on board, with drinking water, tea and coffee all day. It covers your cabins with bed linen and bath towels, a mask and a snorkel for each guest, the karaoke set and the sound system, and the transfer from your hotel or the airport and back.

Two things are part of the open-trip fare and not part of a charter fare. One is the local guide. The other is the photo and video documentation by the open-trip photographer. Both are available on request, and we quote them separately, in writing, so you can decide with the figure in front of you. The line about snacks and soft drinks in the list below belongs to the open trip as well; ask us what the galley stocks for a charter.

Park fees are never in a boat fare. Komodo National Park charges IDR 250,000 per international visitor per day, and IDR 50,000 on weekdays or IDR 75,000 at weekends for Indonesian visitors, under PP 36/2024; the ranger fee and other levies are extra. Flights, hotel nights, tips, travel insurance and personal spending are yours too. Bring cash for the park and the tips. Ask us whether a paddle board can come along on your dates.

Deposit, balance and changing your mind

The terms are the same for every charter, and short enough to read over one coffee. You hold the boat with a deposit of 50 percent. The balance is due 30 days before departure, and if you book inside those 30 days the whole amount is paid at once. We ask for passport details seven days before sailing.

If you cancel 60 days or more before departure, 50 percent is refunded. From 30 to 59 days it is 25 percent. Inside 30 days there is no refund. Refunds are paid within 14 days.

Moving the date is gentler than cancelling. A change made 30 days or more before departure is free; from 14 to 29 days it costs IDR 500,000; inside 14 days it counts as a cancellation. Travel insurance exists for exactly these cases, and we recommend it.

The two tables below set out the same terms line by line. Read them before you send anything, and ask us about any line that is unclear for a group as large as yours.

She is a snorkelling boat with no tanks, and the Wi-Fi is the crew's hotspot, which drops between islands, so a group that plans to dive from the boat, or has to stay online at sea, should book something else.

Otherwise, send us your dates, the number of adults and children, and the occasion. We reply with the price for your group and whether the boat is free.

FAQ

How many guests can a private charter on Princess Lala take?

Up to 18. The price bands cover one to four, five to eight and nine to twelve guests, and each guest beyond twelve pays the extra-guest fare, which is IDR 2,250,000 (≈ USD 138) on the three-day route. Twelve sleep two to a cabin; the single beds, and the berth added to Cabin 6 on charters, bring the boat to 18 beds.

Is a guide included on a private charter?

No. A local guide and the photo and video documentation are part of the open-trip fare only. On a private charter both are available on request and quoted separately. The dragon walk on Komodo is always led by a park ranger, whose fee is paid with the park fees, which are IDR 250,000 per international visitor per day before the ranger and other levies.

Can we change the route on a private charter?

The charter route is the starting point, and it has room in it. The itinerary can change with sea conditions, weather, park quotas and agreement on board, so the order of the stops is something you settle with the cruise director and the captain. Where she lies for the night is the weather's and the captain's decision.

What do I pay for a charter that sails in 2026?

The tables on this page are the prices for 2027 sailings, valid from 1 January to 31 July 2027, and they start at IDR 31,750,000 (≈ USD 1,948) for two days with up to four guests. For a charter that sails before 1 January 2027, send us your dates and group size and we reply with the price for them.

What time does a private charter start and finish?

At the hours you agree with us. We settle the hour for your hotel or airport pickup when you book, and the return on the last day the same way. If you plan to fly home that day, tell us the flight before you book it. The deposit that holds your date is 50 percent.

What equipment comes with a private charter?

A mask and a snorkel for each of up to 18 guests, a tender for beach landings, and the karaoke set and the sound system, all in the fare. Fins are not supplied, there are no tanks and no compressor, and the Wi-Fi is the crew's hotspot, which drops between islands.

Can I book a Komodo trip for 2027 already?

Yes. The Monday and Friday sailings from January to July 2027 are on the calendar, and a private charter can be reserved for any date in 2027. The fares on this site are the published fares for sailings from 1 January to 31 July 2027. For sailings after 31 July 2027, ask us for the price. If a fare changes before your balance is due, we tell you first and you can cancel without charge.
