Princess Lala Phinisi
A Komodo honeymoon cruise in a cabin with its own balcony
Updated 11 October 2026
Two cabins on Princess Lala have a private balcony: Cabin 6, with one double bed, and Cabin 1, with windows on three sides. Joining a Monday or Friday sailing costs IDR 4,650,000 (≈ USD 285) and IDR 4,750,000 (≈ USD 291) a head on the three-day fare; the whole boat for two is IDR 38,000,000 (≈ USD 2,331).
Who else is at dinner
Start with the table, because that is where a honeymoon on a boat is decided. On the open trip you share Princess Lala with the guests of five other cabins and everyone eats together, indoors at the long table or in the open air at the stern. Grilled fish, prawns and sambal go from hand to hand, and by the second lunch you know the people opposite you. Some couples love that. Some do not.
If the two of you want the boat to yourselves, you charter her. Then both tables are yours, the bean bags on the bow sundeck are yours, and five crew cook and sail for two people. Between a cabin and the whole boat, the two balcony cabins described below are the private corner.
So the first thing to tell us is which honeymoon you mean, a cabin with a balcony among good company or the whole phinisi, and we answer with the cabins that are free on your dates and the charter fare, side by side.
Cabin 6 or Cabin 1
Both master cabins have a private balcony, a bathroom of their own, air conditioning and a sea-view window, and they differ in ways that matter to two people.
Cabin 6 is on the main deck, with one double bed and no other, which is why on open trips we sell it for two and only two; on a private charter a single berth is added. Its balcony has a bench, and you reach it without stairs. For three days it costs IDR 4,650,000 (≈ USD 285) per person.
Cabin 1 is on the upper deck, up one flight of stairs. It has three-sided windows, a bean bag on the balcony, and a single berth next to the double that a couple will use for their bags. It costs IDR 4,750,000 (≈ USD 291) per person, the highest fare on board.
Neither is a hotel suite. Each cabin is a bed with a little floor around it, and the room you live in for three days is the deck. Look at the photographs of both on the cabins page before you write to us.
What the whole boat costs for two
A private charter is priced by the boat, in bands, and two guests fall into the first band of one to four: IDR 38,000,000 (≈ USD 2,331) for the three-day route, IDR 31,750,000 (≈ USD 1,948) for the two-day route and IDR 46,000,000 (≈ USD 2,822) for the four-day route. These are the 2027 charter fares, valid from 1 January; a charter that sails earlier is priced on request.
The fare covers the boat and her crew, meals, water, tea and coffee, a mask and snorkel each, the karaoke set if the evening calls for it, and a pickup at an hour you agree with us. Park fees and tips are yours. So are two things the open trip includes, a guide from Labuan Bajo and the photographer: on a charter both come on request and are quoted separately, so if you want the honeymoon photographed, say so when you ask for a price.
Set that beside the open trip, where two people in Cabin 6 for three days pay IDR 4,650,000 (≈ USD 285) each, guide and photographer included, and share the boat. The table below shows the charter bands for the three-day route. The gap between the two figures is the price of privacy, and only the two of you can say what that is worth.
| Guests | per boat | per person |
|---|---|---|
| 1–4 | IDR 38,000,000 (≈ USD 2,331) | IDR 9,500,000 |
| 5–8 | IDR 41,000,000 (≈ USD 2,515) | IDR 5,120,000 |
| 9–12 | IDR 46,000,000 (≈ USD 2,822) | IDR 3,830,000 |
| Extra guest · max guests 18 | IDR 2,250,000 (≈ USD 138) |
What we can arrange
We do not sell a honeymoon package.
What exists is this. A dinner on an island, a decorated cabin or deck, and a dinner cooked around a special request such as a birthday or a proposal are services we arrange when you ask. Each is quoted separately. The price follows the island, the season and how many you are, and nothing is added to your fare without a written quote that you have accepted. Tell us the date that matters and we come back with what the crew can do that evening and what it costs.
A special diet is a question for us before you book.
One evening needs no arranging at all. On the first night the boat lies off Kalong at sunset, bats stream out over the mangroves to feed, and you watch from the deck, from a bean bag at the bow if you like.
When to choose a different honeymoon
If the honeymoon you have in mind has a spa, a pool, a butler, or a signal bar for the video call home, another place will suit you better. Princess Lala is a timber phinisi with six cabins. Her comforts are an air-conditioned cabin after a hot ridge, a clean towel, and a seat at the long table when you climb back on board. The Wi-Fi comes from a crew hotspot and drops between islands.
Two smaller cautions. On the open trip the park's quota can turn the ridge walk on day two into Gili Lawa and the dragon walk into Rinca; if Padar at first light is the photograph you are travelling for, ask about a charter, where Padar is on the route. And our best-time page marks January and February as the wettest and roughest months and July and August as the windiest, so if either of you gets seasick, say so when you write.
Fly in a day early, and on the last day of a three-day trip book a flight after 13:00. Send us the wedding date and the flights together, and we fit the sailing between them.
FAQ
Is Princess Lala a good boat for a honeymoon in Komodo?
She suits a couple who want a private balcony and company at dinner more than a couple who want to be alone. Cabin 6 and Cabin 1 each have a balcony and their own bathroom, and on the open trip dinner is shared with the other guests. To have the boat to yourselves, the three-day charter for two is IDR 38,000,000 (≈ USD 2,331).
Which is better for two, Cabin 6 or Cabin 1?
Cabin 6 has one double bed and a balcony with a bench; it is on the main deck and costs IDR 4,650,000 (≈ USD 285) a head on the three-day open trip. Cabin 1 is up a flight of stairs on the upper deck, with three-sided windows and a bean bag on its balcony, at IDR 4,750,000 (≈ USD 291). Choose Cabin 6 if you would rather skip the stairs and Cabin 1 for the light.
Can you set up a private dinner on a beach for the two of us?
On request, yes. A dinner on an island is a service we arrange and quote separately; the price follows the island, the season and the number of guests, and nothing is added to your fare without a written quote. It is simplest on a private charter, where the evening is yours to plan. On an open trip, ask first, since the sailing is shared.
Is there a photographer for honeymoon pictures?
On the open trip a photographer sails with the group and is part of the fare, so there will be pictures of the two of you on the ridge and in the water. On a private charter the photographer is not in the fare of IDR 38,000,000 (≈ USD 2,331); ask for it and we quote it separately.
Can we take the two-day fare as a short honeymoon?
You can. On the same sailing the two-day fare is IDR 4,250,000 (≈ USD 261) per person in Cabin 6 and IDR 4,450,000 (≈ USD 273) in Cabin 1. You have everything the first two days hold, then go ashore that evening, so book a hotel in Labuan Bajo for that night and fly the day after.
